Kreg Accu-Cut

All Budget-minded Woodworkers, Gather Around!

If you are a woodworker on a budget or are simply looking for a quality saw track system to invest in, then this article is for you. The Kreg Accu-Cut saw rail guide is a worthy investment, and fortunately, it is affordable.

I bought it a while back, tested it, and in this review, you’ll find everything you need to know about it. The Kreg Accu-Cut is compatible with most basic circular saws, and it lets you make multiple precise cuts in sheets at a reasonable price.

Here’s more about it:

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 27.5 by 8.75 by 2.5 Inches
  • Weight: 5.05 Pounds
  • Build Materials: PVC, Polymer & Aluminum
  • Max. Cut length: 50 inches
  • Warranty: 90 Days

Special Features

  • The saw sled can hold right and left blade saws effortlessly.
  • It has an in-built accuracy cursor and indexing stop.
  • The top-grade aluminum guide sports anti-slip and anti-chip guide strips.

What I Like

  • This machine transforms your typical saw into an accurate rail setup for straight and precise cuts.
  • It is made using top-quality aluminum.
  • It can be used by both professionals and beginners.
  • It is easy to set up and utilize.
  • The dual-piece rail guide lets you make cuts of up to 50 inches.
  • The track is compatible with numerous circular saws and operates efficiently with left and right-blade saws.
  • This incredible rail system has a detailed and easy-to-understand manual, making handling and installation effortless.
  • It doesn’t need clamps to hold the circular saw in position, and it accelerates the track resetting process precisely when doing repetitive and numerous cuts.

What I Don’t Like

  • It only makes cuts of 50 inches or less in length, making it unsuitable for users who want to make longer cuts.
  • Some users might find the slip between the track and sled too much.
  • The Kreg Accu-Cut doesn’t provide extra joining components, rails for lengthier cuts, or expansion tools, so you will have to buy them separately.

Key Features

The Track

The track of the Kreg Accu-Cut rail system comprises a top-grade aluminum build. The edges feature a blue material that will keep your saw blade safe and unharmed. Similar to most track saws, the Kreg Accu-Cut track saw will eliminate a small portion of the workpiece, which allows it to ideally match your circular saw.

For the second cut, the blade should perfectly track against the workpiece’s edge, which helps to achieve accurate cuts, as opposed to removing extra material when cutting, as in the first cut. From here on, it’s accurate, precise and clean cuts all the way!

Beneath the truck, you’ll find black stripes that offer the “grasp” once you place the track on your workpiece and help hold it in place.

Besides, if you’re worried about the track’s stability, use the included extra track clamps. They mount at the tack’s bottom and let you slide them easily to your desired length and then lock the track to your workpiece.

The Sled

The other essential feature of the Kreg Accu-Cut track is the saw sled. Surprisingly, it is incredibly light and is made of plastic, excluding the fasteners and clamps.

To test this rail system, I attached the Ridgid brushless circular saw. The first thing I noticed, and appreciated was how it fit perfectly. The clamps that fasten the sled to the circular saw are metallic but take care not to over-tighten.

Simply tighten the screws a bit to keep the sled in position. I slightly adjusted the blade alignment, and if need be, you should check the manual to go about it.

Utilizing the Kreg Accu-Cut Track System

My experience with this track system was simply amazing. Once I set up the track and attached the sled to my saw, it was time to give this fantastic and effective machine a try. I recommend using the Irwin clamps and a 4 ft. level to provide a fence to operate the saw against. Doing this will take some time, and you will also need to counterweight the fence from your cut.

As with all things, practice makes perfect, and the more I used the Kreg Accu-Cut track system, the better quality cuts I made with it. Before making any cuts, I made several practice cuts to test this rail system.

Because there is no significant friction between the materials and the saw, there is zero lateral motion if you move straight on the guide rail. Also, the plastic sled and metallic track make the saw move with minimal resistance through the track for woodworking power tools.

Nonetheless, I noticed a small unsteadiness between the sled and track, though this didn’t impact my work in any way. I suppose this was intentionally integrated to ensure the sled moves unrestrictedly down and up the metal track.

What’s In the Box?

The Kreg Accu-Cut track system doesn’t come alone; it includes a handful of accessories and attachments. Here is what you will find in the box:

  • A universal slaw sled.
  • Two track connectors.
  • Two aluminum guide racks
  • One track indicator clip.
  • One starting block.
  • One manual.

Price

The Kreg Accu-Cut track system goes for $120 to $200, depending on where you buy it. This is rather affordable, instead of having to go back to your local hardware or Home Depot to buy a new circular saw.

Moreover, it has great ratings and customer reviews on Amazon. The customer rating is at 4.4 out of 5. Also, it is lightweight and perfect for both beginners and professional woodworkers.

Why Buy the Kreg Accu-Cut Track System?

The Kreg Accu-Cut guide track won’t slip or slide while cutting.

If your priority is an affordable, quality machine that will make straight and neat cuts, then the Kreg Accu-Cut track system is what you need! First, it is inexpensive, and it will help make cuts as long as it’s 50 inches on either side.

Besides, if your circular saw isn’t cutting accurate and clean cuts anymore, then it’s time to give it a boost. Fortunately, this upgrade is more affordable than investing in another circular saw.

It is also durable, considering it is made of aluminum, PVC, and polymer so it will serve you for a long time.

Need I say More? Invest in quality, longevity, and affordability by investing in the Kreg Accu-Cut track system.
