The best table saw for making furniture will be useful in cutting wood into different shapes and sizes. Coupled with a power drill, chisel, and other woodworking tools, you'll be ready to start making beautiful furniture.

Since table saws are very costly, it would be best to purchase one that will offer you perfect and extended service & performance.

That said, here is my review of the best table saw for furniture making:

My Top Pick: DeWalt DWE7491RS Table Saw

My Top Pick: DeWalt DWE7491RS Table Saw

The DWE7491RS table saw has been an outstanding performer in furniture-making and portable unit scenes. It's an amazing workshop and job site table saw that is lightweight enough to fit in your truck or vehicle and also feature-filled with some of the features you find in larger, top-of-the-line table saws.

Evidently, the DeWalt DWE7491RS unit is my top pick, with good reason.

Key Features

Performance

I can confidently say, from experience, that this table saw will deliver nothing short of efficient and stable performance.

With a 32.5-inch rip capability and a maximum depth of cut of 3.125 inches, this table saw handled all the medium and lightweight duties with ease. Besides, I used it on a broad scope of plywood and other lumber sizes to test its abilities, and it sure impressed me.

The 15-amp motor is relatively standard for job site and workshop-level tasks like furniture making, and the good news is that none of the lumber I used on it resulted in the unit's binding. Binding is, at best, frustrating and hazardous at worst.

General ripping of composite deck boards, the main job I used this table saw for, was easy, though I had to buy a rolling stand to hold the longer deck boards as I cut through them.

In-Built Stand

This is one feature that makes the DWE7491RS table saw stand out among the crowd. First, it is stable so that you won't need support or custom stands to prevent vibration, which is often the case with other less durable and lightweight units.

Additionally, the in-built rack & pinion mechanism, which plays the role of a guide for workpieces, operates parallel to the blade, modifies easily, and is accurate and user-friendly. I also learned to depend on the fence along with the measurement the moment I understood the setup of the saw, and it made me work faster since I no longer had to re-measure my workpieces to ensure the measurements were accurate.

Miter gauge & Fence

Similar to most table saws, this one features a miter gauge almost as accurate as the fence, so I preferred to make angled cuts on my miter saw. Unfortunately, I didn't trust this unit's miter gauge, but you could invest in a new miter gauge and use it instead of a miter saw.

You can connect a vacuum to the dust collection system port for easy dust collection. This made my workpieces clear and sawdust-free, and my work faster and more efficient.

Portability

At 90 lbs., the DWe7491RS table saw is among the somewhat lightweight units.

When I unboxed it, I didn’t quite understand the importance of the in-built wheeled stand, but, boy, did I appreciate it. When I wanted to take it back to the workshop, I pushed it, which was highly convenient.

Nevertheless, you might appreciate this feature less if you work in a stationary workstation. Additionally, you'll get onboard storage on the DeWalt DWe7491RS for placing the power cord and the other detachable parts like the guards and miter gauge; thus, it's entirely self-contained.

The legs are easily foldable with an in-built system that ensures thorough and safe components storage within the table saw, lessening its form factor and facilitating storage in one place when not in use.

Safety Features

It's essential to understand that power tools, including table saws, are handy but potential hazards. The blades revolving at high speeds could cause a wide range of injuries; hence it would be best to purchase a unit with several safety features to reduce potential accidents.

Fortunately, the DeWalt DWE7491RS has a handful of safety features, so there is no need to worry about mishaps. The first one is the Pro Guarding System. The blade guard assembly is a set of plastic guards that lets you feed the lumber but shields you from placing your arms on the exposed blade in case you slip.

What's more, the guards will lock in place when you require seeing the blade. For instance, when modifying the height of the blade, the guard lock system will minimize the temptation to detach this safety feature.

The riving knife's shark-fin design prevents the already cut workpieces from binding and kickback.

The push stick is handy with slender workpieces that don't let your arm be anywhere less than 4 inches close to the blade.

The flip cover on the power button guarantees you don't switch on the blade by mistake, which I highly appreciate.
