If you are thinking of getting a new leaf blower or replacing one that doesn't pack the same punch as it used to then you will probably be considering a Husqvarna.

If you are in a hurry and don't have the time to read the whole article which model should you choose?

Our top pick is the Husqvarna 350BT. The 150BT and 350Bt are incredibly similar blowers the only real difference is in the width of the blow tube. The 150 has a thinner tube and a higher top air speed but the 350 beats it on cfm at 494.

Top Pick

Husqvarna 350BT

Significantly higher output of 494 cfm versus the 150BT's 343.

50 cc X-Torq motor, lightweight and ergonomic design.

Cfm(cubic feet per minute) is the measure of just how much air a blower is capable of blowing. Having a high top air speed is one thing but if it is coming out of a thinner diameter tube you may not be able to cover the same size area of leaves as you would with a blower that has a higher cfm.

Like all modern Husqvarna blowers it features the X-Torq motor design that improve both emission output and fuel efficiency.

The 150BT is a solid performer and with it's thinner diameter tube it has a higher top air speed than the 350BT.

A higher air speed may allow you to lift some more stubborn materials from the ground but you do so at the expense of speed and ground coverage.

  • 251 Mph air speed
  • 343 CFM air flow in pipe

Husqvarna 350BT Review

The 350BT from Husqvarna is a lightweight backpack leaf blower that can handle whatever the average homeowner or landscape professional can throw at it.

That 50 cc engine pute out about 2.1 horse power and features Husqvarna X-Torq design that helps reduce emissions and helps to increase fuel efficiency.

Husqvarna claim that the X-Torq series of engines consume 20% less fuel and give out almost 60% less emissions than a standard 2-stroke engine.

Starting the 350BT is a breeze due to an air purge system that removes unwanted air from the fuel system and the carburetor, so more struggling to get your blower started especially if it has not been used recently.

For extended usage the 350BT really does make life a lot easier on the user. There are a few factors to consider when judging just how comfortable a leaf blower is to use and the 350BT ticks all the boxes with the following features:

  • Weight - At just under 23 lbs the 350 falls firmly into the lightweight category.
  • Strap design - Wide straps, a well ventilated back and hip belt that helps move some of the weight from the shoulders to the waist.
  • Vibration dampening - Built in vibration dampening between the chassis and motor.
  • Throttle control - cruise control so you can set the blower to a constant speed for those longer than average jobs which saves you pressing on the trigger constantly.

Performance wise the 350BT has a maximum airspeed of 180 Mph. However given that the 350BT has a larger blower tube it gives out a higher cfm than the 150BT above at 494 cfm.

Personally I'd prefer the higher cfm as you can target larger area's of leaves than with the higher speed.

Husqvarna 150BT vs 350BT

Just what is the difference between the Husqvarna 150BT and 350BT ?

The main difference between the 150BT and 350BT is the performance and that performance is directly related to the diameter of the output pipe.

Given the same motor the thinner the pipe the higher the air speed but lower the amount of air that may come out per minute.

The 350BT has a larger diameter air pipe that allows it to blow more air out per minute than the 150BT. A higher volume of air is better for most users rather than a bigger max air speed.

Husqvarna 150BT vs 350BT which should you buy ?

The 350BT is the one to buy you can cover more area with it quicker than you can with the 150BT. Getting through a large lawn or drive way is always going to be the main priority when trying to clear all those fall leaves.
